Before anyone asks, there are no pics in the gallery. :)
I'm looking for pictures of driver / passenger seat stand mats that are installed on the pedestal. I need the pics to show the mats with the seats removed. I would like to see how much area the seat mats cover prior to me buying them. I would like to see how they cover the brake fluid resevoir area etc.
Thanks |

you need to refine your use of the search feature. i posted the exact pic you are looking for over a year ago. driver's side covers the same area. you need to trim the opening for the brake fluid reservoir and any other "under seat" access you want. it's not hard and not a big deal, the mats are pretty nicely formed to match the shape of the sheet metal.
bus is a '74 Westfalia.

| The seat stand mats changed from year to year. What are you looking for? |

Any suggestions from trail and error? |

Go for the stock mats. Carpet holds moisture and the stock look is where it is at.

| What secures the mat to the pedestal and is there a lip on the mat that goes under the metal channel on the outside of the pedestal? |

you can glue the mat to the pedestal like the factory did. i just have mine in there with nothing but gravity holding it in, and it's fine.
yes, there is a lip on the mat. |

The brake fluid resevoir area (and corresponding hole on the passenger side) is covered buy a flap attached to the mat that wraps around through the walk through area. ie. not the piece Jon shows in his picture below.

You can see how the cover wraps around from this pic here:
As far as I know, the repos and earlier original VW don't have this "flap". I'm not sure when the change occured originally, though I'm guessing with the change to the new bumpers. |

Paul D,
You have to buy http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=211867765A and http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=211863665B to cover both sides, correct?
Looks sharp! |

seat stand mats are nice for sure, but having used them before, i can see that they crack very quickly where they tuck in at the edges. in addition, the WW texture is more difficult to clean than the factory texture. and for those who dont like carpeting because it holds water, consider that if the foam under the mat gets wet, it will hold water even longer than carpet. since i refuse to carpet my stands, i will stick with freshly painted metal. loud yes, but i make up for that everywhere else.
IMO, seat stands mats should be as easily cleanable, durable, waterproof, and removable as a floormat. |

Yes those are the ones I bought. I did get a slight tear circled in this pic, but that was my fault.
Here is a picture of the other side

| How far under the seat does the repro pedestal wrap-around piece reach (does it cover the holes over the storage channel)? Pic would be great. |

| Regardles of how they fit in your particular year of bus, I have found the New material to not be very durable as the original . And I mean just a few years and they are already splitting at points of attachment. I would have painted those areas black first as the white paint of my interior showa through. What are you gonna do if you want a stock looking interior? Not much new stuff is really built to last. |
