| My brother's ex-wife told us 20 years ago that her father (no alcohol in this story) started up and drove home from work, didn't realize thathe had started and driven a car that was not his, just a twin. He embarrassedly drove it back, got his, and just went on his way. This stuff is true; I once had a Chevy Luv truck, and its key worked with my sister's Datsun truck - but NOT the other way around. I guess there's only so many key code options... |

| My friends were at their favorite watering hole one night getting good and plastered. When it was time to leave, they walked out to their Honda Accord, opened the unlocked doors, and got in. After starting the car (with their key) they noticed the stereo was missing and there were clothes in the back seat that didn't belong to them. Drunk and pissed off, they called the police and reported the "theft". It wasn't long after the call that one of them noticed an identical Honda Accord right beside theirs. Thats when they realized they got in the wrong car. Lucky for them, the cop that responded to the call didn't get them for being WAY TOO DRUNK to drive. |

I'm really quite impressed at this. here I thought they'd be more careful. but I guess at the factory they just thought "what are the odds?"
Seems strange of VW to overlook something like that. |

| Our family had a blue 4-door '66 Impala--grandpa's hade-me-down. My mom was running late and she asked a co-worker to pull it around to the front of the hospital (mom was a nurse). Mom gets ready to leave work, goes out and realizes the car (running) out front is light blue and a two-door. |

| Two of my co-workers rented a car from Avis in Houston, drove to their hotel where the valet parked it. The next morning, they called down for the car. When they arrived at the front of the hotel, what they thought was their car was in the driveway. They drove off for a series of meetings, not returning until late that afternoon. When they arrived, the valet told them that they had taken the wrong car. The valet opened the trunk to confirm that it contained all of the samples that the proper driver had needed for his meetings that day. There was some talk about whether they would be charged with auto theft, but in the end, they bought the correct driver a very expensive dinner. |

| Years ago I was walking down the street, a few miles away from home (Vancouver, BC). I saw a GM key lying on the side of the road so I picked it up. When I got home My uncle was visiting from Saskatchewan in his 58 Pontiac. For a lark we decided to try the key, sure enough it fit the ignition and started right up. :D |

Back in the early '80's, I used my '63 DC key (on Right) to move my bud John's '66 13 vwindow (2nd from Left) all the time, I used to turn it around or move it all the time. We all worked at a Hilton Hotel in Boulder Co. in the kitchen. |

No key needed ~ Back in High School and on a dare, I "stole" the VP's '62 Beetle from the facility parking lot. Pulled the spade connector off the tail light and shoved it on to the hot side of the coil, pull the light switch to park lights,
(coil now had 6v) a quick push, pop the clutch and I cruise it onto the school's front lawn~ |
