What time can everyone make it?

6pm sound good? I want to let the Sonic know when to expect the oil slick.

fduran27 Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:49 am

don - That sounds good to me....

dubtype1 Thu Apr 02, 2009 8:52 am

I'm down for 4.

In case you want to cruise, we can decide here.....

North Cruise Route (more scenic, less traffic, beach access anytime, easy to quit and head to I-95)

South Cruise Route (more variety, mix of urban and ritzy intracoastal views and Palm Beach Island)

(In case the URLs don't work here are the full URLS with the route on a map:

NORTH (should be all on on line):
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&...2&z=14

SOUTH (should be all on one line):

Is the cruise "before" the meet?

don.ville Thu Apr 02, 2009 6:01 pm

I think probably AFTER.. (since I already did the directions starting at Sonic.) ;)

We can decide here in ths thread, or once we are there.....Not sure what to do at the end. :-k

Both routes kind of leave you near the highway so you can go home.
But I'm game for some more chillin' out. 8)

dubtype1 Fri Apr 03, 2009 5:13 am

I think the "north route" would be better for "cruisin". The "south route" kinda takes you through crappy neighborhoods through the most part of it( in my opinion ). just my $.02.

I'm down for either cruisin or chillin after the Sonic meet. Maybe we can cruise over to the ocean Mall and chill there?

don.ville Fri Apr 03, 2009 6:57 am

Ocean mall chilling souns alrite. Aint nothing there now but the beach, subway and a 7-11.
And the Spring Bling leftover stuff.

Spanish Flea Fri Apr 03, 2009 8:41 am

I'd be down for a "hang" After driving up north, i'm not going to want to do more driving.

don.ville Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:47 pm

OK, been getting some feedback.

The North route wins.

Maybe another time we take the south route....

6pm meet at Sonic Drive-In, then leave there for the North route cruise after a few hours when everyone gathers together.

arod Sat Apr 04, 2009 6:48 am

i don't think i can make it. at least not at 4pm. i was thinking it was going to be a sat-night vw drive-in of sorts, not a meet and cruise.

don.ville Sat Apr 04, 2009 9:24 am

I plan on being there as late as folks are hanging out.
So don't think you have to cruise.
The cruise route I put up as a departure route and got carried away with the Google routing features. :).

For the first nite let's focus on the venue, and getting used to the WPB vibe at Sonic.

The more the merrier.

4:00PM Saturday April 18th. Is this what has been settled on?

arod Sat Apr 04, 2009 9:55 am

i am pretty sure we will have a good group to roll up. we still do not have a time set yet. i myself will not be able to leave 'till atleast 5-6pm. if everyone else leaves before that time is ok with me, i will just meet 'yall up there!

don.ville Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:13 pm

Remember this is chilling out, not work!!!
(I have enough of that all week)

I'm at a kids indoor playground with my 2 kids right now, and its 3pm, so Wiley, 4pm may be little on the early side for me.

I would expect a nice crowd of everyone being there well before 7-8pm

rudygetz Mon Apr 06, 2009 5:40 am

I've been reading up, I'd suggest a tad later in the day. Since it gets darker later, possibly a 6pm meet-up at Sonic, and each region organize a cruise up to the Sonic?

For us down-southers, it would be a cruise anyway...and for those that work, 6pm would be a good time to start meeting up?

Just my .02...i'd like to go either way but liked the idea of it being a Night GTG similar to Fudds where ppl can go after work, etc.

Yes and also the one in Lake Worth. We are going to try out the Lake Park Sonic first and see how that works out. That one is near I95 and the one in Lake Worth is near the Turn Pike, so either one is close to a highway.

don.ville Mon Apr 06, 2009 9:51 am

Rudy, I agree, 6pm is good, and plenty of light left.

Jeff, yeah, right address.

Caleb and I talked over the weekend. The Lake Park Sonic on Congress ave. is for the first time for us to feel it out.

The Lake WORTH Sonic manager is a car guy, so if we have to move south, we have options....

I agree with several of you that the drive from south is a cruise in itself, so we can arrange an official cruise another time, when we have more planning time. 8)

Spanish Flea Mon Apr 06, 2009 11:54 am

It will be a nice drive up, (weather pending) I'm In!
It will be a good hang. :D
I've cleared it with the better half. She may go!
