| In trying to determine the source of a mysterious rhythmic clicking sound (synchronized to vehicle speed) coming from the right front of my van, I realized that one thing we don't have here on The Samba is a noise database. We've got an image gallery into which people upload jpegs, so why not a sounds gallery too, into which we upload mp3s? I know that a few people have tried to replicate this function on occasion by posting youtube links in which the sound is more important than the video, and I think that ratwell's site has some sounds of noisy lifters, but wouldn't it be nice if we had a central database here to be used to help us all diagnose those mysterious sounds that can sometimes drive us all crazy? |
