  Not really, I traded a few type 3 parts for a personalized plate from Berlin. Mattias from Berlin was kind enough to send a real Berlin plate as well. Those are real German stickers on the personalized plate... 8)

That stuff holds for years; I plugged a keyhole with it in my '77 Bus when I grafted a '73 sliding door onto it but kept the lock. That silicone is still great after 15 years of exposure to sun, salt and wind.

But I'm sure I could peel it all off with a fingernail if I wanted to.

Be careful it doesn't eat the paint up. :-k :bay_red:

I have a question if anyone has done this. Dusty welded up the holes for the front emblem and thinks I should use the double sided tape to remount it. Well, I attempted it last night and this morning it was laying on the floor of the garage. Too much weight or I didn't do it correctly. Dusty said he will do it for me and it will stay on without issue. I am skeptical, but he doesn't want me to get rust back in the nose. Anyone have experience with taping an OG metal emblem to the nose? Any feedback appreciated.

Yes. I've had some fairly extensive experience with DF tape.
No, not with taping an emblem on.

However, in my line of work we have extensive experience using predominantly 3M VHB to hold large sections sheetmetal up to 5'x10' onto fabricated Aluminum frameworks with nothing else but a couple pop rivets for shear weight redundancy in each corner.
It's the same stuff that's used to hold most of the sheetmetal sides onto those high end custom enclosed car/ATV trailers.

If you do, do it right and only use 3M VHB, and apply it on clean surfaces, that thing won't fall off. I wouldn't use the foam variety either, use the gel like variety. I don't know the part numbers offhand. Beware, a roll can cost upwards of $90.

If you use the right tape and put it on right, it'll be just fine.

Do with this input as you wish. :D

No real new updates. I injured my back and neck, so was not able to work much all this year. I have the front beam ready to drop, but need to clear some things out of the garage (house project flooring), before I can do so.

As winter is coming on, I plan to move forward with it during that time. As Notchboy said, I have too many things going on at one time....

BTW, the undercarriage is done, except where the beam mounts. I will get to that once the beam is removed for clean up and replacing old or needed parts.

I have my plans laid out for the rear interior.

Not much to tell.
