Yes I am a ASE certified mechanic not sure what asc is and I'm not sure you do either. Listen get off your soap box and stop regurgitating Internet drivel. It does not sound like explaining the reason for changing the fuel filter regularly in any vehicle would sink into your skull, much less how the weight of a 4 gram fuel filter is NOT going to pull the inlet fitting out of the carb. from looking at your posts its apparent that you just like to bloviate about things you have read to make yourself look smarter.

putting the correct size hose on so it does not have to be overclamped is a good idea as well.

Hey all..Accomplished alot at work today, I cleaned up, blasted and painted 6 pairs of valves covers along with 12 oil sump cover plates..I also did an oil change on my bug (Hadn't since break in) :oops: :? But all checked out..I also replaced my belt with the proper sized one..my old one was 11.3..something something something, and I replaced it with the correct 9.5 X 905 :D So its rockin' and rolling..and today is a beautiful day..so the cruise to work and back was exceptional! :D 8)

:D I've been driving it everywhere..despite what my parents say about gas, I'll just go for cruises..I love taking the bug out and about, tomorrow I'm making a 60 mile round trip to the airport that I fly out of, its going to be a really nice cruise..but the bug is running beautifully and I couldn't ask for more!..But, today I learned that the original intakes were painted Ford Grey..So when I take it apart for painting and interior, I'll remove the intake manifold and paint it..I'm also hoping to get my hands on a stock fuel pump as well as 034 Distributor to match the 34 PICT-3 Carb :D ...Only a matter of time now!

Put 100 miles on the bug today, and went from just a hair above the 1/4 tank to just under the first line in the 'R' area..so that's ~1.5 gallons? :shock: I cant be getting that good MPG

Don't put that much faith in the accuracy of your gas gauge! :wink: Fill the tank, record the miles, go at least 200 miles, then fill it again. Do the math and you'll get a pretty accurate reading.

I gotta say though..drop spindles on Fatties car are slick as hell and I'll roll that bug in a heart beat..But Slow and Stock..that's the only way I'll roll my car :lol:

Brakes = 98% dead :shock: I wont be driving for the next week becasue the brakes failed again..New master and Rubber line time..Fuck

Yeah I'm more ashamed about the bug, I hate that I haven't been able to get important things like this right, the car runs like a charm but can't stop almost at all..and it's a drag, I thought that I had everything solved and ready to move onto cosmetics..again I spoke to early. :x ..But I will win the battle with the bugger eventually.

Thanks guys..I'm hoping either tomorrow or Tuesday I'll be able to go in and replace the master...and if I can go a full month with out any hic-ups
then I can start looking into costmetics!
