| Hope you get the brakes figured out for good this time. I just read all 72 pages of the thread, and all I can say is WOW. You won't let anything stop you. That is cool because a lot of people (myself included) would have given up by now. You have honestly inspired me to be a little more patient, and put some genuine effort into the things I need to fix that go wrong. I got rid of my last project car because is was kicking my @$$, but if I hadn't gotten rid of that, I wouldn't have the '67 baja I traded for it... So I think I'll be sticking with the VW for a while. I'll be following your further progress too (I've put a lot of hours into reading ;) ) |

Brusky, I see you sometimes when I'm driving about in Poulsbo, I always gotta check all the Vanagons
Jonvo4591 - I'm super happy to hear that I've inspired you! But its guys like you, here in my thread, that have taken their time to read through everything and congradulate me on the work that I've done, that keeps me going. So really, thank you, and I won't disappoint, I'll have plenty of updates in the upcoming months! :D |

| Angus doesn't have the Bra on him at the moment and mine isn't a Westy I see quite a few Westy's with my color but I'm the only 7 passenger with the Burgundy color. I wish I had room for a fattie beetle I'm really getting into them. |

I'm hoping in the next 2-3 months, you wont even be able to recognize my bug anymore..but in a good way. |

| Hahah..That's the hope, but I gotta concentrate on getting it to go and stop with out any hic-ups before I worry about its cosmetics...But tomorrow I'm going on an adventure..at 5:20 in the morning I'm driving it to work (In hope that I can avoid all of the traffic) and do the brake work tomorrow morning before school starts  :D We dont have to be in until 9 tomorrow..So I'm hoping that's a big enough gate to get them done in..I'm sure it is..But we all know about me and my optomism |

| Hey guys, so woke up at 4:45 was was at work by 5:30...John and I got the brakes done, but it seems like there is still air in the lines, It takes a pump for them to get nice and solid, so I may again do it this Sunday. But the brakes are back, they work and I have an OEM master cylinder so I won't have to worry about it crapping out anymore! :D |

| Once I got onto the highway..it wasn't bad..But when I got close to work (It's right next to a Naval Shipyard) Traffic became heavy..So I got to upset everyone by driving extremely slow in the right lane  |

Way better to hurt someones feelings then hurt them by bending up a couple of cars by hitting someone. Stay safe and never out drive your equipment no matter how mad the guy behind you gets. |

| Very true and now since they work again, I don't have anything really to worry about..Now if I could get the Speedometer working again..I'll be golden as far as safety goes. |

I bet somebody on the samba or craigslist will want those tires if they're still good, offroad tires tend to wear fast so cheap used ones are appealing. |

| Oh, that's a really good idea..I'm now thinking of a way I can get the new rims onto my car and putting the stock tires on them..I think I'm going to have to have the beetle on jack stands for a little bit.. |

Here's some recent pics of my engine, I took about a minute ago..still fighting with the video camera..But I need to clean the tin off bit more, its been raining so you can see some of the rain spots, but you can see that I replaced the belt and wipped it down a bit..I love how its turning out! Some things that I still gotta do is, paint the intake maifold..it should be grey, and I gotta change the distributor over from a 205 SVDA, to a 034 SVDA and I found myself some stock fuel pumps! :D But I won't be painting the intake until I start doing the body work. Also, checked my oil (its been about 300 miles) and its still to the top of the dipstick and its as gold as it was the day I put it in! So that's a tribute to how clean the inside of my engine is! :D |

| :D Thanks! My dad said about 150,000 miles before the rebuild. The odometer when out at about 30,000 miles before he parked it and it was at 120,000 if he remembers correctly..I have about 600-700 miles on it now..my odometer/speedometer doesn't work. |

| Almost got into a car accident today..A guy in a Ford Ranger decided to slam on their brakes in the middle of the road..So I had to slam on mine..causing all 4 brakes to lock..and sending me into the on coming lane..luckily the cars in the on coming lane were far enough away to slow down safely..The guy in the Ranger gave me the finger and took off like a bat outta hell.. :fist: Asshole |
