got this today for my 53 truck. Sadly it's all wrong, but looking at this certificate has me wishing I had this bus!
Anyone else get the wrong specs? Did they ever get it right and how did you go about it? Should I send the museum pictures and other information or is it a lost cause?

Hi,

I don´t see an issue here. Drop them an email that you own a truck and not a kombi and ask them to look over this again. Obviously they slipped into the wrong line of their lists.
If they tell you that the data is right you could ask yourself if your stamped chassis number and chassis number plate are the correct ones on your truck ... no further comments to that 8-(

Hi Richard,
I had a simular problem last month !
I sended them a mail, problem was solved in less then a week !
And they promissed me to return 25 euro !! :shock: Till now I did not Received the money but I know Frau Neefe will solve that aswell !
BTW the 25 ps engine is not a 1200 like mentioned on your Paper !
You better tell them that , because otherwise you'll receive a second paper with mistake's :wink:
They made the same mistake on mine ! And a few others ! :roll:
They also told me They stopped to put engine numbers on those papers, but they can comfirm if your engine is original to your car if you send them your engine number ! You will get a second paper , where they comfirm your engine is original to your car !

Hi all,
Thanks for the advice. I've already contacted the museum to see what can be done. I was very impressed with their speed. It took only about 2 weeks to get the certificate! I do not think that my vin is wrong. I checked again last night and it is quit clear. The previous owner has had the truck for 15 years, before which he knows the history at least back to it's import from Germany (it was delivered to Germany not the US). The engine should be an 1132cc correct? Should it list as a 1.1 liter? I've never seen a birth certificate for a barndoor and its my first. Unfortunately I no longer have the original engine and tranny, but at least it's a driver! Thanks for the help!

thanks man! I'll be heading down there within the next few weeks to put in some more roof panels. The plan is to drive the BD so you guys can pick it apart!

Just received the 2010 version (now 35euros)

M 083? Walkthrough? Would be nice, but I don't think so.

the one i got with my bus was done in 98 and is also wrong.
it says the bus is a;
24A, VW-Eight seater with sunroof. :roll:
1.2 engine
plus it hasnt got my name on it :)

M83 is not walk-through for Barndoors.
It's most likely something North-American related most US/Canada Buses have this code.
