Never met him, but if he is a friend of the bus and a friend of OCTO, he is a friend of mine. Love and strength goes out to your healing and to your family as well.

Best of luck for a swift recovery!

That pretty much sums it up for me too.
Always hate to hear about something like this.

I believe it was John Muir in the Idiot Book who said that if everyone drove a split bus where you sit right out front that the roads would be a lot safer.

So sorry to hear about your accident. I hope and pray for your recovery.

Sorry to hear this, wishing him a speedy and complete recovery.

Just got back from seeing Greg at the hospital. He seems to be getting the rest and care that he needs. I encourage all of Gregs friends to stop by and visit if you can. Even though he is in a coma, he knows you are there, and that you care. It was nice to meet his family and witness how much they all care for one another. Gregs father told me how much they appreciate the support of Gregs friends. If you can't make it out to visit, please be sure to keep Greg AND his family in your prayers. Miracles will happen.

Rancho Cucamonga traffic collision leaves one man in critical condition

One man was flown to a local hospital after a major traffic collision on Arrow Route in Rancho Cucamonga.

Greg Contreras was driving his 1961 Volkswagon Pickup west on Arrow toward Malachite Avenue Thursday as a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Lawrence Conner was going east on the same street, according to an San Bernardino County Sheriff's news release.

As Contreras got closer, Conner tried to make a left turn onto Malachite and turned into the path of the Volkswagon, according to the news release. The two vehicles collided in the intersection and Contreras had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department.

He was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition, according to the news release. Conner was taken to the San Antonio Community Hospital where he was evaluated and later released.

Typical. Some thoughtless jackass in a modern truck nearly kills a guy in a bus and he walks away with scrapes. Hopefully, Greg will be able to sue his ass and get a nice bus to replace the one that this moron destroyed. Hope all works out for the best.

I'm heading over to the hospital shortly with "Corona" Ryan and Tiffany from OEBC. Here's an update from Ryan he received from Greg's brother inlaw:

I heard from Greg's brother-in-law yesterday and for now the news is not-so-good. After an MRI and catscan the doctors think that Greg will have severe brain damage. What exactly that means, I don't know and appearantly they don't either. We will just have to wait and see how extensive it is. We are going to visit this afternoon before the OCTO meeting and will have an update ASAP. We all know what kind of person Greg is and I think that if anyone can recover from all this, it's him. (If only to prove the doctors wrong!) Keep thinking good thoughts and go visit if you have a chance. Gregs' family are super people and would definately love the support. We are working on getting a paypal account started for them, but until then if you would like to donate to the cause you can mail a check made out to Keri Contreras and mail it to us and I will get it to them.
Thanks,
Ryan

Prove the doctors wrong Greg. We know you can.
