After seeing rickosuave1987's video I decided to pull the trigger on the GoPro Motorsports camera.
http://www.goprocamera.com/
This thing is very cool, weights about 4.5 oz and will do an hour of vid with a 2G SD Ram card. Comes with an assortment of mounting hardware and is waterproof to 100'. Here's a video from my testing run. I can easily watch the front suspension cycle with the video. You're going to hear the rail start squeaking, discovered one of the piviot bolts for the rear arms decided to use this opportunity to loosen up. I'm going to try it out mounted to the visor and see if a higher perspective will be better than pointing it at my upper shock mount 8)

Yeah, I know, where the video ends I had slid out in a turn, when to fire it back up and found out the battery was dead, it was an 8 month old optima battery, turns out the battery was defective. I'll have some better stuff soon. |

The terrain looks like it is in Casa Grande Az. Is the Gop Pro still under $200.00?
I rented AZ BAJA.com's Go Pro camera it is awesum. ( My Go Pro Videos are there and on the Samba: ( Posted: Tue Jan 13, 2009 9:17 am Post subject: Go Pro). I safety wired the camera to the roof rack but the suction cup held on even when subjected to many fully compresed suspension bumps. It was mounted to the center bottom of the windshield. The image stabilization is very solid the terrain appears much smoother than it is. The only draw backs are:
1. It is hard to tell if you are still recording. We had 4 cards and the amount of video varied on all of them. We never got an hours worth on any card. We stopped at the reccomended interval to change the lithium batteries and cards at the same time.
2. A 12 volt adapter would be great. A remote led to indicate a full video card could be incorporated in the same harness. |

I had the same problem yesterday. Different length movies. Also the stick on/clip in mount shakes a little going to try the suction cup next. i picked it up with the roll bar mount and it was about $225.00 |

Yeah it's NM but the video doesn't do it justice. There's some really nice scenery and great off-roading here. Silvercity area is pretty cool and the Gila National forest is right there. It's huge (3.3 million acres) and has a good but of roads open to off-road vehicles. |

riNR, you might want to hold off a but, GoPro is going to release an HD version. Another cam that I recently discovered that's very small and priced good is this one.
http://www.firebox.com/product/2384/Muvi-Micro-Camcorder
It's called the MUVI and runs about $100, the color and low light clarity are noticably better than my GoPro. |

Time to drag this old post up.
I have been looking at a few different types of cams for cruising and club videos. I have an HD JAZZ mounted to a gps holder in my 65 beetle but I wanted to find something that can run outside in all kinds of weather. Has anyone used the gopro or another camera like what I've described. |

| I've got a GoPro HD. The picture is amazing, tons of accessories and mounting options, and it comes with a waterproof sealed case. Just have a good computer to edit that video! |

On a Mac I just use iMovie, but if you're on a Windows I think any freeware program would do the trick. No need to go spending money on software that you could be spending on your car. Here's one of mine that I did with iMovie
That's the standard def GoPro, not the HD |
