I've tried a couple of different searches, but my google-fu isn't as good as it should be...
after my troubles in DC this past weekend, I'm taking a look at what I carry in my car on a daily basis and I seem to remember seeing a thread that discussed this last year or maybe even '09, can anyone point me in the right direction (for the thread)? tools, parts, etc. |

I carry basic hand tools, spare fan belt, accelerator cable, bulbs and some other misc stuff.
I know some carry spare carbs, distributor and fuel pumps, but honestly there's a limit on what i'll do on the side of the road. I have AAA Gold and can get it home if I need a tow. |

I can't say for parts, but my toolbag consists of the following:
-2 philips screwdrivers
-2 flathead screwdrivers
-3/8in drive ratchet
-1/2in drive ratchet
-assorted 3/8in deep sockets, 10-17mm
-assorted 1/2in deep sockets, 18-27mm
-various extensions: 3/8in 10in wobble, 3 & 6in standards, 6 & 12in 1/2in
-a set of GearWrench ratcheting wrenches 10-18mm
-A 10.8V Cordless Li-Ion Makita impact driver
-Impact driver set, includes adapters to 3/8 and 1/2in drive as well as all forms of screwdriver bits + a few drill bits
-four-way lug wrench
-a simple scissor jack + one jackstand
-a box of blue nitrile gloves
I carry this around in my DD, it's basically any tool I would need to mend it on the side of the road in a hurry or do basically anything to it, plus it comes in extremely helpful if I run to the junkyard as I don't have to remember to go by my house first. |
