i'm trying to get my trailing arms off and cant seem to get the bolt all the way out... it seems to be just spinning in the same place when i turn it... anybody have any suggestions?

HamburgerBrad Tue May 26, 2009 3:31 pm

at that point, the arm wants to fall down. lift the arm up and take the load off the bolt, pull it out.

houser31 Wed May 27, 2009 8:52 am

this is the bolt i cant get out... and the bumper installed...

xirxious Wed May 27, 2009 11:34 am

Is that bumper welded to the shock tower? I'd like to add the dual front bumper to match the rear, but for now would want a bolt on as I'll change the beam later. I'm guessing they sell bolt on versions of the front bumper...

the bolt on version consists of welding a small plate to the beam for the upper mount.

houser31 Wed May 27, 2009 2:42 pm

HAMBRAD is right... you weld on a small tab and then bolt the bumper to it..

houser31 Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:51 pm

after about 4 hours of fighting this thing.. i got it off finally...

had to cut it out and reweld the loop back in...

i tried to get pictures of it and hopefully you can see the inside metal thing for the rubber busshing was ceased on the bolt....

i got the master cylinder in place and thinking this is my placement for the turning brake...

also was wondering if i wanted to put 3x3s on this baja with a stock type 1 transmission... how long of axles will i need?
