So guys Im still kind of a newb on here. Been a member a couple years but I mainly just look for great knowledge from you guys! But ive posted quite a few times asking questions and stuff and got to thinking, none of you really know who I am, what my skills are, or the car I am working on!
I would like to start a build thread on here, filling in where I can with the pictures I have, and keep documenting it from here on out. My only question before starting this thread is...do I have to upload my photos to the gallery before I can post them here? |

Heres how it looked when I originally planed on keeping it a street car. And of course after it was cleaned up and had new wheels, a better hood and deck lid thrown on :D
This is my type 4 motor thrown in! Not everything is hooked up in this picture.
After driving it for a week I decided what the hell I want a baja again! So I cut the front and back. Attached my fiberglass that I picked up for 70 bucks total :D Its all mismatched but its all in decent shape!
Well Ill let you all get caught up for now! Plenty more pics of progression, including lift, paint, widened beam, bumper build, and so on![/img] |

| Ha ha its just a 2 liter, built to the gills back in the day before my existence! Thats 20 some years old I might add, and only ran in the sand HARD! But decided it needed a new home in my car  Even after tons of abuse in the sand this motor has never been blown up or taken apart :D |

This is the only picture I have of the lifting process. Its funny cuz the one side is lifted with a 30 inch tire, and the other side is lowered with a stock tire sitting on a cinder block.
So finally some pictures of it lifted! The last picture I took is after a trimmed about an 1 1/2" off the front fenders. These are the only pictures I have because in the beginning I didnt really plan on taking pictures step by step of how I was doing everything. But since being a part of this forum I decided recently to start my own build thread! So from here on out Ive been taking a lot more pictures of stuff! |

After driving my car for a little while, I decided that 30s in the back werent big enough :( So I decided to get 31x12.5 Pro Comp mud terrains! I couldnt fit them though because they rubbed my torsion bar tube, so to remedy that problem I bought 1" longer boxed rear trailing arms  Heres some pictures of me getting all that done!

Man! Those 31x12.5's look SWEET! So apart from the boxed arms, anything different on the back? Any kind of offset?
What is your front end setup? I like the way it looks. |

Yeah its nice having a little something different then the norm on here. Although sometimes I wouldnt mind the better availability of parts if I had like a type 1 1915cc or something! |

Thanks I like the tires there great! Nothing else is different in the back, stock type 1 tranny, because my 5 rib needs rebuilt, the wheels are just wide 5 slotted wheels that were widened to a 15x8. But I want to ditch them for some nicer 15x10s with a smaller backspacing. The front setup is a gay stock cut and turned, junkpile balljoint front end with coil overs. I just got done building a wider balljoint front-end with new balljoints, triple wall tie-rods, and I built some slightly longer shock towers. It will show up in some later pictures I still gotta post! |

So here is some pictures of the front bumper I built out of 1.5" and 1.75" tube. My headlights are to big to fit behind my fenders like I want, so I built them to sit close to in front of the fenders. I also posted a a couple pics of after I painted the car and the bumper.

| It's looking good. The pic in the parking lot makes it look like you have a little rear squat. |

Yeah I need to lift it a click in the rear, it is a little squaty. I also have a camber/toe issue to address on both arms, because each one is different. Any ideas on how to fix that? My guess is that the arms arent perfect and Im going to have to modify the pivot bolt mount a bit to both be the same? |
