I have a 84 vanagon and im going to swapping engines soon both are 1.9. Is there anything i shoud know before i start |

The only advice i can think of is label all the electrical connections before you pull the first engine. And take a picture of the engine bay before you start. That helped me the first time i pulled an engine. The wiring on the engine takes a set with age. so you'll probably be able to lay the harness down over then engine and see where everything goes. But it will save time and hassle to just label it before hand.
And good floor jack is nice to have as well.
Just get a Bently and follow the instructions. |

Wish I had done this with my swap. I didnt label what I took the stuff from so I am having to track everything down. |

Yeah, and I imagine that's tough in Moses Lake where there aren't exactly a ton of other Vanagons to look at for reference. :)
