It took 22hrs of labour...but I have a new exhaust sytem without having to replace the heads! I can't believe I am excited about it when it's costing me so much money!

Beers on me! Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we all may die!

i am sorry if i missed your other thread on this, but why would you have had to replace the heads in order to replace the exhaust? :?

The problem was the manifold studs and bolts were essentially melted in the heads. Here in Canada we have a lovely relationship with rust. The worry was he wouldn't be able to extract the broken studs from the heads.

Anyhow, he was able to drill, tap and repair, so I pick it up tomorrow!

Then it's on to tranny cooler and coolant hoses. hehe.

ah, I thought that may be the issue, congrats! :)

ahh yes, memories...........

I was lucky in that I had no rust on the engine to deal with.

Congrats on getting a relatively pain-free exhaust install.
