So today I went up to my friends house as we are going to do some work on his car, now I've known him for about 10 years. In the past we've talked before, traded parts, bought and sold some stuff, but I've never really had the chance to sit down and go thru some of his stuff. He told me in the past he was friends with Joe and Darrell Vitone, the one thing I didn't know is that he actually use to WORK at Economotors in 69-74 before going over to VanWyck (I think). We'll here is where it get's interesting, he points to this big sign in his garage and says "Yeah that came from Economotors"....He use to work as a mechanic and one of his main jobs was putting together GTV's, he's got all kinds of stories about working there "and the old rims we use to bolt together" So of course I ask him if he as any old EMPI stuff, any liturature or anything from Economotors....he's says...hold on. Comes back with a signed Letter of Recommendation from when he left the company and a christmas card from 72. He goes "yeah I kept the card because I'm in it.." I ask him where and he unfolds it, turns it over.....and there is him AND THE SIGN!!!
Too cool, he's looking for any other old stuff he's got, he has a TON of stories...
The sign might be for sale for the right price as he's trying to find a way to buy a new interior from Lenny without his wife knowing how much it cost. :twisted: |

| The dealer I used to work for has two of those signs still. I asked once and he wouldn't sell me one. Maybe one day though. |
