I am putting in a new cap and rotor- the new rotor differs slightly from the old one- has a larger metal contact area and they have different #'s. Is this OK?

The old one is Part # 1234 33 2215 R5
New one is # 1234 33 2300 R1
On Gowesty 's site the 2215 is for a Bus Model Year 72'-79'. This is the Rotor currently in my 83.5?
The 2300 is for Model Year 80'-85'. The correct one for my van according to Gowesty. Any reason I should not put the new one in?
Maybe it was incorrectly installed by previous owner or mechanic?
I removed some old platinum plugs today as well - fuel lines are next. |
