very nice, you could also add/cast some fins to the bottom to match the valvecovers.

Well heres my first try. It was hell trying to do all this in my 9" lathe had trouble getting everything running true and ended up loosing about a 1/2" on the OD. But not bad for guessing at the measurement. The dia. is off about 3/4" and it looks to deep so if anyone can give me the OD and the thickness of it I`ll make the changes on the next one. Heres the first of the R&D.

Beautiful. Do you know how much it weighs? I'd happily remove my Berg sump and put yours on!

do you use any tribore or stroninum to the mix to make it stronger and tighter grain? that looks great ,keep it up, and on the wheels.

Ronnie,
I`d send you this one but need it for measurements. I`m going to make some small changes on the next one that I`m thinking will make it look better shorter tighter longer fins and 9" in dia. As far as the weight 5.7 lbs. a pound lighter then the 36hp Gene Berg sump that I have. Also not sure how to mount it the G B has mounting bolts that look like a 6mm standoff bolt with 8mm holes drilled in the sump so I`m guessing the studs have to be removed. I`ll keep you posted.

And if anyone needs valve covers I have two sets of each that I will unload for a good price.

I like how the Berg sump mounts, EMPI even copied it.
Put me down for another set of VC's. Got a couple more 36's in the works

I could make a split pattern and make a core for the inside I`m just not sure how well the fins would cast with the sand I`m using. They do sell a oil base sand K-bond or Petrobond that give you a much better finish but cost alot more. I may have to try some just to see how good it realy is.

i love the cast look so i think it would be worth it, to bad I dont have a 36hp or any money

and try to taper the fins so they suck more heat away from the body&oil,also a few fins on the id if it's thick enough will help controal oil slosh.looks great.ever thought about the lost foam method?might make casting the fins a lot easyerand almost a finished product.

I`m not sure I can anwser that one. The old school covers are rounded about as much as the stock covers on the inside so they won`t work. But the racer covers have a much deeper corner that may work without any problem. Splitpile and Mr Motorhead both have the deeper covers and may be able to anwer this one. I don`t make the ones ronnie has anymore ( in the above pic) but the racer cover is pretty much the same cover one more fin and a name. If someone would like to give them a try I`d be happy to work a deal.
Also OOC Mark in Belgium has a set of racers and maybe able to give you an answer.

I just finished setting up a set of Porsche ratio rockers. I'll see how they will clear on the mock up head.

Didn't leak a drop! A very nice pair of covers. I used the early style on my bus engine, the custom style on my oval window daily driver.

Great to hear ! I got a set of the vintage style and don't have a motor to put them on yet. Hopefully will get something soon.

you could use that vehicle to develope aero packages.and have fun at the same time !!!
