You want to restore the rubber mount only?
Buy a new one, I see them for sale all the time, even NOS.
I only found one on the site right now but here it is (not NOS):

| I am guessing he is talking about the rubber that is glued to the cradle on the rear tranny mount. You see restored ones come up from time to time. |

| I'm working on the transmission cradles at the moment. I'll offer them as an exchange with either factory or 356 Carrera grade of hardness. I've had the front donut made in Carrera grade too. I'll post up some shots when they're finished. |

Yes, it's three components bonded together. The threaded bosses and hoop is one part, rubber next (x2 pieces), then the frame fork bracket.
The rubber isn't available so I've had it made. I've also made a mounting jig for alignment. If it's out of alignment the car will drive terribly because the holes in the frame fork bracket are not adjustable and if you bond the hoop in the wrong position the engine and gearbox will be held at an angle. |

I can't help but can you or someone else post some photos for reference? I was not aware of the rubber being glued onto the cradle in Beetles. |

SuperLeicht: Are you now accepting orders/cores for this "re-rubberization"?
Price and lead-time? |

Is the bus cradle in stiffer rubber too?
I found a NOS cradle but if I remember correctly it had a 211 number or something...
It isn't glueing??? In swedish, I think the process is called "vulkanisering", which is some process to actually bond the new rubber to the metal and to the old rubber, it is used when fixing broken tires or putting new threads on tires reusing the core.

| Hans S in Germany can do the Beetle ones - for my Porsche-cradle I am now using the excellent service of Jacek at www.ww2vw.com for the vulcanizing of this tranny mount. |

I think the only difference between bus and sedan mounts is that hardness of the rubber. I know that is the case with the later style rear mounts. |
