| Are you making up the entire panel with the black textile material or just the aluminum trim? |

the pattern the clay shows is the same that will be on the aluminum plates .......the pics shows an impression of the roller over the modelling clay
i will make the entire small kickpanel
i will sell the long aluminum piece alone , at least until i get a complete unit to reproduce .......
the main problem is that the long panel is 1.40meter long , and i cannot get it through the mail
any courier can deliver , but being an used part , it cannot be imported through a courier due to Arg laws..........
the best bet will be someone coming down here with it .......ANYONE ????
i already have a long kick panel ready to go in the U.S. but nobody that can bring it to me ...... |

| Is it just me or does that clay impression pattern look a lot coarser spacing on the lines. The original lines look a lot finer. |

the clay pattern looks exactly the same as the sample i have here .....nothing more , nothing less .....
have in mind that such mass produced vehicles had several small parts manufacturers for the same piece , i have seen split horn grilles , handles , window winders , clocks , sema switches and moldings, just to name a few , that are different between them if compared with other car/bus similar parts ..........
it also depends if the parts are issued with the car or replacement parts provided by the dealer .......
i have 2 sets of split pop outs whose frames and hinges are different between them , and both were manufactured by GHE !!!! |

| I'm still not convinced but the proof will be when you post up a pic of the new and original aluminum pieces side by side. I would like to see someone post up comparitive pictures of different snowflake patterns, especially one exactly like the clay impression. Trust me, I'll man up and admit it if I am wrong but those patterns don't look the same to me. I don't have a problem at all with someone reproducing the aluminum panels but I sure would expect them to look identical. |

" I don't have a problem at all with someone reproducing the aluminum panels " ...................are you already making them ??
i don`t know if the piece i am manufacturing will look exactly like the part you have , but all i can say is that i always try to put the maximum effort in everything i reproduce , and sometimes (this is not the case) a part cannot be reproduced exactly like it was made in the past , at least not to sell just 20/30 units ......old artisans just passed away and modern technologies not always can met the hi quality old school craftmanship ...... |

No, and I have no intention to. |

I think the difference you are seeing is since you are looking at the impression of the real part,
you are seeing the squared off valleys instead of looking at the rounded peaks... |

I totally agree with this, I've tried to get this reproduced myself...and failed, nobody is interested in making tooling for just a few parts any more. The costs (at least in Europe) are way too high.
Would be great to see the finished part... |

I did take that into consideration as well before I posted.
I may be in the market one day for one and I would be much more willing to spend my money on an exact(or nearly) reproduction then one that is just close.
I'm done posting and will in the meantime start composing my retraction after I see the picture of the newly stamped and original panel side by side. |

| This kind of reaction, will cause the reproducer to not even try to get it correct, inturn dumping the whole idea. For me I would much rather have this repro any day than 59 up ribbed trim just because I couldn't find any OG snowflake trim. Even if it does come out a little off, it will look the part plenty fine, and to those that have good og ones we might be able to tell. Remember you're looking at a zoomed in fresh clean detail. Cut him some slack! :x |

| I say bravo to anyone trying to faithfully reproduce any part. Let the final product speak for itself, and if people don't like it they don't have to buy it. |
