so... We are making a movie and the star of the film is a 1973 cherry red and white bay window bus! We are currently filming our way from Las Vegas and headed out to the VW Classic!! Tomorrow the entire crew will be at the classic sporting our No Parking t-shirts so come out and see us. Check us out later tonight because we will because we will be posting Lucille's (our girl's name) pictures and story! You can also check us out at www.noparkingthemovie.com or on facebook.

All right... so here is the run down...

Lucille, our pretty little bay window bus, is the star of a movie called "No Parking." The basic run down of the movie is:

Paul and Ray have been best friends since childhood. Now in their late 50’s, both find themselves dealing with unanticipated grief that has them wondering if the best years of their lives have already passed them by.

Both decide to get out of Dodge by embarking on the road trip that they dreamed of taking while still in high school but never had. This trip will take them all over the Golden State of California, from top to bottom, with a stop for good measure in Vegas. The vehicle, Paul’s now weathered ‘73 Volkswagen bus, which he has had since his senior year.

It is on this 2,300 mile road trip, that they begin to discuss their past pains, fears of the future, and confusion on what to do for the present. Through these conversations, the healing process begins to unfold in spite of their inability to see it. Different adventures and scenarios ensue all along the way providing much needed levity as they push an old car to its limits.

The ride IS the destination.

So what does that have to do with us?

We are going to be on site at the Classic tomorrow. We LOVE the Volkswagen community and are excited to come and hang out with everyone. Lucille is going to be on site as well so come on by and see us. We would love to chat it up and you probably could see a scene being shot in person! Our mechanic, Jason from "the resurrection project," is going to be our movie star tomorrow and will shoot his scene during the Classic.

This movie is legit! We have already lined up over 40 theaters to release in this Fall. We are an independent film company called Live Media Entertainment, and although we are small, we are mighty (much like Volkswagens themselves!).

We will all be wearing shirts that have a print of Lucille on the front and "No Parking" on the back. If you see our crew, stop us and talk to us! We want to get the word out about the movie but we also want to showcase how amazing Volkswagens really are.

We know you love them! Let's show everyone else why they should love them too!

See you tomorrow,
No Parking Crew

This picture was taken at an abandoned gas station on route to Yosemite. It was awesome...

This is where Lucille had her final preparations for the trip. Thanks to Jason and "the resurrection project" for making this movie possible. Check out his shop and crew tomorrow at the VW Classic (Lucille will know where he is!).

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to meet Lucille at the Classic. It was great to be able to shoot on location and be able to feature true Volkswagen enthusiasts in the film. Here are some pictures for you:

Lucille working her magic... even she advertises when necessary!

The first vdub is a car from the Sacramento area. Congratulations Eric on the second place win! The second vdub is my boy Tony's car. Both cars are regulars at "the resurrection project" too.

This is the LiveMedia Crew on location at the VW Classic. We tend to draw a crowd... They even put me to work with crowd control.

Check out Sacramento local Stacy and his vdub bus making a cameo in the movie. Congrats on the category win and the photo shoot with Volksworld. You can see the Harley bus in the movie this Fall too...

Just in case you were curious... I am the mechanic for the crew. That is how I am involved. I have been fixing almost every car on the road... except for the bus! She is running great.

cool thread, keep it coming...

Well... the crew is back home. But the movie making doesn't stop here. Above is a pic of Lucille driving up to Mount Lassen. She is a trooper and a bad ass. She made it all the way. There are very few things as awesome as a VW. I might be bias but it is true. I will be posting more pics from the trip and more about Lucille's preparation for the climb but I am too tired for now. Talk to you later.

I think you guys are kinda jerks. There were like what, 3 questions asked about the movie? You didn't answer any of them.

At least not in this thread.
