| getting the car back together and I have slop in the shaft inside the colum were the wheel bolts on. All directions. theri is not to many parts in there what could we worn?? |

| It's been forever since my first bug ('69), but it felt more like a joystick than a steering wheel. It turned out to be a bearing in the steering shaft. The shop I had taken it to pulled the steering wheel and I think the turn signal/ignition housing to get to it. I don't have an idea how involved it is, but this my give you an idea. If it's just an extra half turn when you turn, then you need to adjust the worm gear on the steering gear. It sounds like the former if I understand your description. Hope this helps/ |
