Went into the garage today first I looked at the 57 and then looked over at the thermometer... Nope still not warm enough to paint it...
Guess I'm still in the holding pattern of scrounging up parts off samba one by one until the day it gets warm enough to shoot her with color. So far this winter I've found a new beige 56 only ragtop cover, a complete oatmeal loop carpet kit, a full black oem upholstery kit, a Wolfsburg full door seal kit, a set of mint pop outs off craiglist for a song and dance, many miscellaneous harwares, new bumpers.... So once the paint goes on our57 should move along quite quick... If were only 70 degrees right now.... |

What color are you planning to shoot? Big fan of the beige ragtops, biased opinion of course :) |

| I sat on the side of Palmdale Road in my 55 for one hour waiting for the sun to rise after the headlights/taillights nearly depleted the battery. Fortunately the engine continued to run while I was waiting, so I was still able to make it to work. I guess the generator is producing enough electricity to run the engine but not enough to run the engine and supply sufficient electricity to power headlights. Any thoughts? |

so today i towed this new toy to its new home, its a very early Jan 55 canadian standard
this car original had egg taillights, did they use the same fenders than the heart taillights? because the drivers side fender, the taillight holes are not the same ase the pass side fenders. same location but one has 3 small holes and the other has the regular two big and two small holes and both are ribbed fenders.
