Some interesting things that Invisible Stuff and I dug up. The VIN decoder that Fattie just posted up on the Fat Chick forum..His VIN # is 1102406296..When we entered in the number, his beetle came up as a
1970 -UK Historic Tax Class What is that? Also, on the tag inside the door jam, it says its a 1969..So late production maybe? Sounds like its a Unique Bug. |

not sure about that but when i pulled a motor out of a autostick it had the same outlet for the autostick setup. I had to plug and clamp it off like that one is. Motor or intake might have come from a autostick bug |

| The engine is a 1600cc Dual Port..its code is correct for a March 1972...And his is a late 1969 - Early 1970..So the engine is incorrect for the car..The tins are also mismatched..So the engine is sort of a mess (sorry bud) But I've never seen that kind of a manifold before and I work at a VW shop. |

| hey man ill be the first to agree with ya on that one, its not something you or i did so its not like we can take any shame out of it being miss matched, but now the PO?.. me and him are gonna have words next time we meet... |

| Yeah..a bat to the knees is what he's in need of. That poor engine..He claiming to have rebuilt it..Your exhaust is terrible and the manifold I think has us all confused...But I think that it was meant to be a 'performance' upgrade going from a SP to a DP...But I'm super curious to know what the meaning of your year is..Perhaps you have a car from the UK? I know it's not your cup of tea (Ahaha funny British joke  ) But if its something rare..I'd find the stock paint for that sucks and put a SP back in it..Me being the purist that I am though.. :P |

| if it is something rare then i'd definitely have to go stock, but not to dash your hopes and dreams of converting me to your purist ways but just a few people have been having issues with the vin finder, but if for whatever god forsaken reason my poor abused beetle is in any way unique ill just have to go stock and find another beetle to continue on with the plans i have for this one, maybe ill find myself my own 73.... |
