View original topic: Hydraulic turning / steering brake help

Well, if any of you have been following me at all you know that I was supposed to be bringing my old baja back from the dead over the Christmas break. Well, 17 days after my chirco order the parts still aren't in SC so while I was down there I just started pulling bits off for clean up. Anyway, from an old parts heap there was a Neal single lever hydraulic turning brake. I have no idea how to hook this up but want to for the 'poor man's limited-slip' and other hooliganism. Anyone know where to find a diagram or a walk-through on this?

the brake line that goes to the rear breaks goes to the inlet of the steering brake and the the two outlets got to the rear breaks with you choice which direction turns which wheel. The handle that came with mine had really poor tolerances so I did some work to my handle to fit my application and i had to weld nubs and add washers to the handle to make it a tight rattle free set up. Its best to have access to a flaring tool and to use fitting designed for brakes. you can pick up lines of different length pretty cheap online or from local auto store.

most people use "up" for left and "down" for right....
