haha well here is my engine its very much so a work in progress but its tons better than what it looked like when i got it.
Its my first car so progress is slow i am going to build an engine for it this summer and paint the engine bay (i had removed the rust and used a paint that converted rust into black paint hence the weirdness)
Im so jealous of all these engines so clean and nice looking i wish mine was like this maybe then it would run better than 24s on the quarter mile ](*,)
Before
After
Ps yes i am aware that the exhaust is crooked but hey a 20 dollar exhaust is still 20 dollars haha its the extreme loudness that i have it for
pss yeah fuel filter i got it at least mine has clamps on it |

That old air cleaner is prolly more effective than the new one. |

| Anybody know what the two hoses from canister under passenger wheel hook up to. I have the top one hooked to the fan shroud and have no idea where the lower hose goes to. Pics would be great. I have a 79 SB vert that was FI and now has a carb :?: |

I think on mine it went to a vent on the gas tank. Mine was carb'ed from the beginning though... |

The flux capacitor to take you back to 1989 when you're engine compartment would be considered awesome?
 ... just kidding... it's pretty nice... minus the pink and the flames.
what's that empi thing sticking through the fan shroud? oil filter? |

Buggin_74 wrote: i bet that oil filter makes a mess when u change it Nope. not a bit. Take one of the empty oil bottles and cut diagonal midway. Sticks right up under it and catches it all.

what's that empi thing sticking through the fan shroud? oil filter? VF.. yes, oil filter, but just stuck one of the millions of stickers I have accrued on it. RE: pink. That's what happens when you order "fuscia" powder coat from Eastwood.
Still, nobody wins the "what's missing" award. DUH! |

a "velvet big daddy" Thank you very much. Your color chart is a bit off. But I have a suit just like that. But I need that HAT... really bad. And I used to use a cane just like that to prop the lid. Thanks again for the inspiration. |

First brought it home:
The electric fuel pump was in the engine compartment and leaking
After a couple of months:
In the first pic the oil bath air filter had a wieghted flap that covered the
crank case vent. This caused the oil slinger to... well... sling oil out everywhere. After changing to the other air filter with the flap weighted open, no more mess. :D
I just picked this one up for a spare/build project:
