These quotes are goofed up so...
"Broke96" wins! Unfortunately, the prize is 3 quarts of used motor oil.. :P
It has an Electromotive triggered ignition with dual coils on the board. The whole thing is setting on the luggage shelf. |

| I got oil everywhere I'll post another pic when the new seal for my generator mount comes in so the slow oil leak stops running into the fan and throwing it all over.. No I'm not currently driving it until it's fixed :( |

not wanting to be a pessimist but i would be highly surprised if any of the vws on this forum are still on the roads in 30 years time
if governments have their way they wont be
yes the fuel filter topic goes on and on.
its just a convenience thing that most people put them there.
why jack up a car and climb underneath and get covered in fuel installing it there when u can easily put it in the engine bay and see what its doing....
1000s upon 1000s have done that and never had problems and cause of this people new to the scene often assume its factory, but lots have burned down cause of it too.
most know the risks, and that doesnt bother me, every one that burns down makes mine more valuable  |

there would be a LOT less engine compartment fires if people would put their filter in the correct line... the one leading to the fuel pump, not between the pump and carb. They aren't meant to be under pressure, if fuel is being SUCKED through them they won't burst (vacuum is a funny thing that way), put them under pressure and yes, they will burst and spill fuel all over the place, catch fire, end game. |

That and you catch all the crap before it plugs up the fuel pump.. also every time I change my filter I use A piece of sand paper on the ends so the hose don't slide easy, and hose clamps are very helpfol |
