if you let a 17 year old drive that car it's going to take it's share of dings--inside and out.
i am speeking from experience.

i understand that everyone is different--no offense.

i guess what i was trying to say was:
40 year old interiors do not hold up well against all your "bros" when you are 17.
i know mine didn't.

Buy it! I've got a '70 (excellent year) and that's a nice one. Plus Pasadena needs more bays!

I see a lot of buses and in my opinion a sound southern California price for that bus with a rebuilt engine and tranny would be around $4500. If you put another $3000 into the body and paint you could easily have a $8500-10,000 bus on your hands.

Here's a link to a 1968 for sale here in San Diego: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/1291218114.html

I did a pre-purchase inspection on it for a customer. It was full of rust and a real POS. I post this so you see how much he's asking. The engine had roughly 60,000 miles on it and was ready for rebuild too.

My customer passed on it due to my recommendation and I was able to turn him onto a very nice 1971 bus he got for $5,000 and it had a new 1600dp I had installed one month earlier. Here's a pic of the bus he bought and the engine I installed.

she's pretty clean, looks just like my 70, nice original interior also.

easily 3000-4000 is what its worth. hope you get it for less. look at the NADA on one of these, it is kinda crazy what they are worth. I had a chance to sell mine last year for over 6000, my wife made me pass it up. mine is a lil nicer body than yours but very similiar other wise. I suggest you cover the original seats in the rear with something just to protect them, remove the far rear bed cushion when not camping along with the lil stool/jump seat. those are hard to find. also look for a kids/childs cot that goes over the front seats, they are cool to have, my kid likes sleeping up there, or when camping it is nice to use to store stuff, usually run about 40 bucks on here. good luck

I made these covers, like I said to protect the OG stuff.

This Westy is a COOKIE! I hope you bought it! I have a '68 that is almost exactly the same. The interior on this one is spot on. Complete with sink/icebox and stool!
