Who hit top spped for the group?

Any breakdowns?

What was the total miles travelled for the weekend?

Sounds and looks like you had a blast! Wish I could have been there... :(

Ian Epperson Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:01 pm

I hit 83 mph for top speed.

I was the only one to get stuck (in the sand).

Pax had a bush pull off his coil wire Saturday, then dropped his alternator belt Sunday morning, and was wrestling with his carbs and dropping a lot of oil Sunday afternoon.

Brian's shift coupling let go (screw came out) Saturday afternoon.

Sam's rims got beat up, but it never stopped him.

My sway bar got beat up and the bushings fell out at some point, but it didn't stop me. (Didn't notice until fueling up for the highway home.)

RidgeRacer (Rich) didn't break once.

No one ran out of gas and all the repairs only took a few minutes. (Less time than RidgeRacer needed to get in and out of his car  )

I count about 330 miles for me - probably about 60 miles of that on pavement. Brian and I skipped the last leg between Bordertown and Truckee, so Pax and RidgeRacer have about another 30(?) miles of trail.

Ian Epperson Mon Oct 12, 2009 7:09 pm

Oh, and we did get fully lost once and had the road disappear - it turned into a sand bank, and it's where I got stuck. We ended up doing a bit of trail blazing to find our way back to a path. We also got split up a few times, and the CB's came in handy.

looks like fun!...any pics of that grey long travel baja? or build thread?

57baja Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:13 pm

Great looking run!

sam_w Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:22 pm

We all had a great time, but we are not as eperienced as SoCalBaja's in the video department.

Pax has offered to lead a trip around Huntington Lake High Country, as I used to take my Hobiecat there from West LA it would be a good meet in the middle.

Thanks for the fun times guys.
Man that water hole made a real mess of my car. Now I may have to use water instead of just an air hose. :?
