I have a '74 SB that I want to put a cig lighter into so I can charge my cell phone and other devices. i have picked up an aftermarket one, and have found that getting under the dash is a Royal pain.
What is the best was of getting under there and doing this? Do I have to unscrew and pull the dash off to get under there? (UGH!).
I should be able to hook it up the the Std place on the fuse block(got to look that up again. I also need to move the radio off of always-on side of the fuse block to the acc side.(PO stuff).

Thanks,

Lay on your back where your feet would be while sitting in the driver's seat and have your feet out the door and rest your head on the center tunnel. This is the best way to get up and under the cigarette lighter area, short of pulling the dash which is more work.

Ugh,
I was afraid of that, I will have to give it a try.
of course, I am 6' and 250# so we will have to see how I fit.

Thanks,

I bought one of those after market ones at auto zone and it had 2 screws to mount it with. so i screwed it under the dash near the original ashtray and it works great. when you wire it in connect the black wire to a ground and the red to the #8 fuse as that is always on. i am also 250# and i am 5'11" so i know how hard it is.
