Awesome buses Barndoors are, I been checking the pictures thread and just wondered why do some barndoors don't have a rear bumper? was it an option? What year did it became standard?

rear bumper was not introduced until 1953. It was added at different times for different models with the first model being deluxe, then microbus/kombi/panel, then truck. Rear bumper was an m-coded option after it was introduced on deluxes, but was standard on all vehicles by late 53.

My information at hand says:
Deluxe - Chassis # 20-047102 (March 10, 1953)
Standard Microbus/Kombi/Panelvan - Chassis # 20-069409 (December 21, 1953)
Pickup - Chassis # 20-079856 (April 1, 1954)
