No
Which side shift tranny?
Air or water cooled?
There is a difference.
Air cooled is exactly like the 091 end shift.
Water cooled has a much stronger reverse setup. |

Very 1st post shows the difference. |

i looked through the first page of that thread and couldn't find anything calling out two different side shift transmission :?: i must be missing something....? |

Second picture down is an air cooled side shift Vanagon, 3rd picture is the water cooled version.
Notice where the shifter attaches.
That is the difference. |
