Sorry guys this is only going to apply to folks that have California black license plates on there VW's. 63-69
Ok, so I received from a friend of mine a sheet that came from the DMV in the 60's. This is how the sheet works, as you all know license plates were issued from the DMV in certain letter sequences. Ie, DXA 746. The first 3 digits will show as to what citys DMV that plate was sent to. So, if anybody would like to know what city there black plated California VW was origanally registed in just post the first 3 digits of your plate and I can look on my sheet for you. Sorry, I would scan the list, but my scanner is broken. :(
One more thing, my list only goes up to RDA, so any number sequance after that I wont know.

The list only goes up to RDA, so cant help you with ZKR. But, OIJ was registed out of the L.A. DMV. |
