I'm getting ready to put together a stock-ish 1600DP for my baja, and I have a few selections available for carbs. I am looking for drivability and reliablility for my number one goal. I am in the snow belt--and I'm using a tri-mil baja exhaust, so carb heat would be an issue. I would be willing to modify the exhaust to get heat to the manifold, if necessary (yes, the deano has a provision for carb heat).
None of my available air cleaners have warm air provisions... I have a variety of K&N filters and a stock late model (plastic) air cleaner I could use for the 34PICT.
I had a weber progressive on my last baja--the dang thing wouldn't work at all. If it won't idle, I have no use for it. I just want a good running motor, not looking for ultimate performance. Torque is more important to me than HP.
I have an SVDA that I planned to use for the 34 PICT, but I think it could be used with the other carb options with a little work. If not, I have an 009 (yuck) with a DIS-IV "distributorless" that I used before.
Thanks for your opinions!

| Dual ICTs all the way! They will help "wake up" the engine and will be reliable as can be. Also no icing problems or manifold pre-heating issues. |

Thanks, SG! My last car (not a baja) was a T4 with 40 dells and it was sweet. I was always afraid of the work it might take to make duals work, but not after making them purr.
If the dual ICTs work nice on a 1600DP, I might try them. Can I run the SVDA with them? I think aircooled.net would tell me it would need a re-curve.
Any truth to duals being sensitive to baja service? It's a play car, 3x3s etc.
