You have violated the first rule of the panel custodians guild...

also got a front bumper it :)
is the bumper supposed to follow exactly the shape of the bus?
is there a diference in shape between a long rib and short rib, beause i compared both of mine and there not the same, they dont have the same curve...
anyone have a rear one for sale on the east coast? [-o< |

| to my knowledge theres no difference in the curve of the bumpers,it kinda looks like at least one of those bumpers has been worked over |

I have a great deal of respect for you. To take on that large of a project shows that you are truly a visionairy.
Best of luck and keep up the good work |

hell yeah!!!!!!!!! looking good phil! i have to admit the lowered stuff is hurting my eyes but it aint my ass that will be enduring/enjoying the ride!
so have you noticed some of the welding and welds are in different spots on the wolfy buses compared to the hannover versions?
if you look on my 56 kombi build (its a wlfsburg bus too) i show the inserts on the tophats that arent included on repair panels, pretty easy to install now, might be tough later
keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!! |

dont worry its not gonna be ''dropped'' just slightly lowered so the rear wheels have no camber.... the trans support is just temporary and i want to be able to go on the highway with it
thats why the top hats arent welded yet i still have to install the inserts
no i have not noticed that the welds are different |

my comment on the lowering was only from my personal perspective, loads of folks like em lowered, just not my thing,
your frame was pretty rusty and maybe some of the cool crude wolfburg welding was hard to detect, the frames on wolfsburg buses have torch welds all over in spots where the later buses were merely spot welded, overall im noticing that the wolfsburg chassis was stronger than the later ones, keep up the good work! |

after a 6 week ''break'' i restarted working on the panel and bought a couple more parts, a nice set of doors and a crank start apron :)
I just have a couple things to repaire in the front wheel wells then im welding the body back on the frame |

I was looking at my drivers side and there is quite a bit of work to do and i was wondering if it would be better to do a double door, i have a door frame and an extra cargo door rocker.
so what would you guys recomend? DD or not?
heres a pic of the drivers side

i say nay, then you have to do bellypans and of course im a fan of the era installed stationary glass panel cum kombi
something unique might be cool though, what about a display window or a salesflap or even something more unique......you have saved it from imminent death,so anything you want to do will be neato in my book |
