HaHa Dennis,
Can't wait! Should be fun if all 10 show up, they would have a few 11's to check out then!

I will know today if we are coming. My buddy is checking the family schedule to see if he can go.

I really cannot thank you enough for the opportunity.

I live in Addison, VT and work for a TV station in South Burlington.

I own dust to glory, and that was one of the things that fanned the flames on me starting a build. I was hoping for this years 500, but it may end up being next, who knows.

This all started with me saying to a friend that I wanted to take my 1979 500cc dirt bike (in all of it's 4" travel glory) into the 250 race, and has evolved into this.

Robert has came along ways in a short time. He has hooked up with guys like Eric and Dave and watching others that dont lissen. they tair there stuff up and redo it 3 times. my boys have been racing there 11 car for 3 years and did pretty good. this year they stepped up to a 5-16. its a hole different story. faster and more money to prep.
so keep chugging along and build your car.

I would rather be a racer for a day then a spectator for life.
Dennis

Twist my arm a bit and i might be convinced to make the trip and work the pits when you have your car ready. Apparently no vw show in johnson this year so can't meet there. Pm me if you need anything. I've a collection of stuff that needs a home.

nice. thanks so much. what I really need is information. I went to my friends yard today and he has a link pin front car with wide 5's that I will be butchering. PM me with parts you want out of...we sort of need..well, everything.

No problem, if it works out we can get you at the airport and save you renting a car. There will be 10 class 11's there so you can check out alot of cars. Dennis (11Brothers) will be there hopefully and they have a pretty good 11 car. Let me know what you wana do! Robert

Oh, by the way, what does the baja in the pictures need to be a running vehicle? Recomend that first, so you can go out and break stuff.

I think they are evaluating what they want to race.

Oops, not paying attention me.

we are sticking with the bug plan, however pushing off the intended date of the race until we can build it right. We got some good advice :D

The bug needs at the least the DS heater channel, but we are thinking about a tube chassis with the shell of this one dropped over it.

I went to a junkyard today and cut off a link pin front (with a hacksaw. good lord that took a while) and grabbed a set of wide 5's with drums.

The motor to this bug is in pieces, we need a pair of DP heads, and have the rest of the rebuild parts. Since the car was taken apart before I got to it, I did not think much of the missing clutch pedal.....it is an autostick. booo.

We are planning on a bus tranny now, as I have to put one in anyways.

We have sprint bars, seats, new harnesses, tires, new glass for the windshield, and a pile o crap that came with it. I have a new set of 14" travel shocks, and a bunch of stuff from other projects that will find it's way in here. Wish I could put the new small block 350 in it I just finished.

I am now trading it for tube work for the chassis, cage and gaurds.

Anyone eliminate the heater channel with box tube? I was thinking 1/8th inch 2x5 and incorporating it into the cage, cutting a notch and flipping it to have the doors shut close enough for a race car.

Make sure if your making a 5/1600 that you leave the pan, has to have it. Unlimited is a class 10 with a VW skin on it, totally different animal. You dont need heater channels anyways.......You want type 3 rear drums at least.
