Hi,

I have a 1972 Standard Beetle and am looking to replace the steering wheel. I really like the older 62-71 style steering wheel with the chrome horn ring (http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D113%2D498%2D600%2DBKIT). Does anyone know how to make this fit a 1972 beetle via an adapter kit? If so, what type of adapter is required?

Thanks,

Damon

I think it'll fit without any adapters at all, it just won't look "stock". But that's what you're looking for! Only possible issue is the horn button wiring. Someone else might be able to chime in on that.

i tried to swap an early 71 super wheel to a 72 super . i found the collapsible column would need to be swapped also...

I think the only place you will have a problem is with the wiper stalk. it will hit the back of the wheel.
I'm not sure about an adapter, but I put a dash mounted wiper switch in my 73, and the wheel works fine.

I have a 1974 Super Beetle and I want to change my steering wheel. Grant Products do not make an adapter, does anyone know where I can get one? :D
