Can anyone help tell me what kind of vw these front spindles came off? Im looking for some spares but cant seem to figure out where they came from. thanks

The brakes and backing plates are from a bus. Spindles are probally the same.

They look like bus, but the arms don't look Bus. are the Ball joints just sitting there ??
From 71 on buses used disc, so the bolt pattern was a wider spacing.

I see all the gusetting on the arms and the through bolts at the beam, the double nuts on the joint through me off.

I'm wondering if they gained more travel or where just going for bigger brakes and bearings.

actually the stock steering arm was cut off and replaced with chromoly and the arms are all chromoly too so thats why it looks weird. I was trying to look through the classifieds for some but havent seen any that match up to these yet.

I was clear I guess,

They are early bay window spindle and brakes, can't say the yrs for sure, but 68 to 70 and yes home made/custom arms.

it's the balljoints that got me, but looking again tonight I guess the dust boots are gone ? They didn't and still don't look like vw joints. I was wondering if they had fit something like Ford joints in.

building a set of raised Bus spindles is in my near future.

Those are uniballs with high-mis spacers...not ball joints.

Whoever made those arms knew what they were doing.

Yup, not a bad set-up at all. I would have angled the uniball cups a little though, your never going to use all the misalignment angle on up travel. A little angle would have netted more droop and more overall travel.
