I've got two axles measuring 21 1/8 long with 34mm splines. I'm having a hard time following bcr's site...no distinction if the axle length listed includes or doesn't include the spline length.

So...

total axle length (including splines) = 21 1/8"
axle length (not including splines) = 18 1/2"
spline length = 34mm

Now for my question - what wxl arms can I make work with them? (I'll be running type 4 944 cvs)

Thanks,
adam

After re-reading the site, I'm pretty sure I can run 5x5..but will wait for confirmation

19-1/4" for 3x3's so by adding roughly 2" that would make the 5" out but not the additional 2" back.
I'm thinking they need to be a bit longer yet.

axles are usually the last thing bought after your arms ect. so you can measure the length they need to be

im running 002 trans with 3x3 with 22 1/2" SAW axles

How would you measure for axle length? Drop the frame until both cv flanges are parrell and then measure?

yes. when both cv flanges are directly across from each other you measure the distance from inside cup of the flange to inside cup of flange and subtract 1/4", that will be the length of your axle.

thanks!

as far as setting up my travel limits--should I set them to where the axle has about a 1/4" of slop or should I base it off when the cv's angles max out?

should be based off max cv angle. with axle installed put an angle finder on the axle and let the suspension droop until you get the max angle of your cv's. not sure what yours are but i know bus cv's have about 17 degrees.
