| I have the options of two different bugs a 1968, and a 1972-1973 cant remember which one. If they are almost both alike in rust and wear which would offer the better initial setup for offroading meaning gearing/suspension Im planning on swapping a better motor in anyways. Thanks |

| aren't they both balljoint cars? probably not much difference there. I'd go with the later model or one less tampered with if so. |

| hmm yeah i can see where ya going, but i think the transmission gearing could come in effect as to which has the lower gearing. If they are even different |

Unless you want the old school look for your Baja, go with the IRS car.
The 72/3.
Better suspension to start and a lot more options for modifying it.
A 68 should have a 4:125 ring and pinion gear.
If the other is a 72 it will probably have the same ratio. |
