| i just replaced my master cylinder on a 69 bug. i bench bleed it and shot brake fluid all the way across the garage, so i know its pushing fluid through the cylinder. when i put the master cylinder back in the car i still got fluid shooting out. now that i have all the lines hooked back up im getting no fluid at all through the master cylinder. it sat for about a month before i hooked the lines back up. any ideas on why im getting no fluid through the master cylinder. |

Air lock.......... You have air bubbles someplace in system or between MC and resivour.... If you pump it a few time and let it sit for a 10-15 seconds and them pump it again after many repetition of this you may move bubble... Or crack loose stop light switch(s) and hopefully relieve air lock when pumping pedal... You will have to bleed entire system to get brakes to work properly...

| thanks for the info that sounds about right, i was pretty po'ed that i finally got all the lines hooked back up, replaced all of them, then i go to bleed it and the fluid just sat in the resevoir after pumping about 100+ times. do you think i should take the master back out and bench bleed it again since it sat for such a long time, we all know how fun that is to do those pedal cluster are no fun to work around. |

| Pull the pump and siphon hose from a spray bottle, connect a small section of hose between siphon tube and the left front bleeder, and try to suction bleed that wheel. If you can break the airlock you should be able to bleed the rest normally. Have used this on front disc brakes on motorcycles which are notoriously problematic. |

no need to take the master out to bench bleed. you can loosen the hard line on top of the master have someone pump the brakes. you will be able to see the air bubbles escape from around the threads of the hard line when pumping the brakes. |
