how do you know how hi you can adjust the front end up on a ball joint front end with adjusters.

Depend on if you have "raised" or "lowered" adjusters/beams......
IF you are installing them your self, you can set them anywhere you want......

| i have raised ones i just dont know far i can go up is there a limmit on the ball joint |

there is a limit on the ball joint, which is why link pin front ends can be modified for more travel.
when the ball joint stops swiveling, any further motion is going to pull it apart, or out. |

To get full down travel, you are going to have to jack it up to get full droop...

full droop is:
1) arms touching each other ( not good )
2) arms bottoming on the bump stop ( which can be fine tuned with a BFH )
3) ball joints reaching the end of their travel
when there is no weight on the front end. jacked up or airborne.
ideally, 2) and 3) happen at the same time
full travel is:
1a) arms touching each other ( not good )
2a) arms topping out on the bump stop ( which can be fine tuned with a BFH )
3a) ball joints reaching the end of their travel
at the same time when the tire hits something tall and stationary, and you have full droop set right.
if 2) and 3) happen while the car has weight on wheels and is stationary, you are cool if you hit a rock and not cool if you hit a pothole.
2a) and 3a) happen when you whackarock
what you are trying to figure out is how to set it in between to get the best of both. which depends on your car, your weight and the terrain you drive in. |
