I've spent hours trying to test-post one photo from IPhoto to the gallery.
Searched this forum and found the proper Mac protocol, and attempted it several times.
What I've gleaned:
Take IPhoto, crop to size. did this twice, last was 600x480 - that should be plenty small!
Put photo on desktop, drop into gallery. Finally got this right.
Every time says "file is too large or corrupted."
I'm beyond frustrated.
Another thing, I have to constantly reenter my user name when trying to post. Does the Mac drop the connection after a certain time?
Sorry, I'm just not real computer savvy. |

I'm not familiar with Macs but what do you mean by "Drop into Gallery"?
If the site keeps logging you out, this is usually an issue with your browser. This is most often solved by clearing your cookies in your browser. |

I've had a Mac for over two years with no problems posting pics; I use ImageWell to resize my pics, not iPhoto, but the premise is the same...
it's not just the 640x480 that is the issue, but the size of the pic in megabytes... it has be be under 500kb also...
your Mac is not constantly logging you out; it's your browser... which browser are you using? I tried several before deciding on Camino, which has given me zero problems... |

Thanks, guys.
I'm using Safari.
Drop into Gallery means dragging the photo off the desktop into the gallery slot.
Evidently, I need another program than IPhoto to manipulate the shot down to size.
Like I said, I'm not real swift on computers. |

Safari was ok, but not that great... try this:
http://caminobrowser.org/
Camino is built by the Mozilla guys; essentially, it's a Firefox for OSX.
for ImageWell, try this:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10289237&vid=10700347&mode=info
that's the version I am using; later versions have become shareware and will ask you for $19.95... it's a small image manipulator that is quick and easy to use...
I only use iPhoto to pull pics off of my camera.... and that's it... |

Thanks, Blankmange, I'll try them.
Downloaded them both, used Imagewell on test photo, posted it successfully!
Thanks! |

Next time drop your photo into photoshop. Then click on image, it'll open up a box. Check your resolution to 92 pixels/inch and probably change the size
to something like 4x6 or 5x7 inches. Usually that will drop it to an acceptable size. Make a copy by "save as" and rename the photo and send it to your desktop.
If you upload and it says file corrupted, try dragging the resized photo into
Preview (in your dock) and it should open up the photo. Once it opens up
re-save it and it will replace the existing photo you saved from photoshop. You should then be able to upload the new saved file. |

I don't think you can drag. You need to use the BROWSE button and upload it from your desktop that way.
Try opening the photo in PREVIEW instead of iPhoto. Do a Save As and you'll see the Quality option that lets you adjust the file size. Anything over 100k is a waste. |
