Hi all
Here's a KK Dennis is making right now for me in ABQ

meinkubel Mon Apr 18, 2011 5:13 pm

Started working on the Kubel (Kooblekar) again. Will start getting the frame ready for primer and paint soon. Wanted to share my experence, dealing with ordering Czech kubel parts from Ivo Pospisil of KDF.CZ . The whole transaction with him was great and got the parts in roughly two weeks. Communication with him was great as well. The parts I got were great quality and I'm very happy with them. Please see pics below. I will be ordering more parts from him. The whole transaction was great.

Will post more pics and updates on this project soon.

Good looking parts, meinkubel....

I just got some parts from Vladimir Lehar, communication was good, and his service was quick too.

I already had the crank, and Gurttrommel carrier :)

How did you pay Ivo? I ended up wiring money to Vladimir, it cost more than I would have liked to do it that way. Does Ivo have a better (read, cheaper) method of payment?

Thanks, BNMike

Hello-
I paid Ivo Pospisil at KDF.CZ with paypal. I did not see that option on his website. When you are ready just send him a list of what you want and he will reply with the total cost with shipping, etc... He also sent me an e-mail address for paypal payment. Very easy to deal with. Check out his web site, if you have not all ready.
Take care-

We are not having a problem with KKW's spare tire tower. Maybe the problem was fix during the build, not sure. I think we did the "tower" different during the install. It seems different than other KKW's spare tire towers.

That looks like nice work you are doing :) BNMike

PS.....I see you are using KKW's spare tire tower. So am I, but I found it is a tight fit for a 15" wheel. A little "re-modeling" around the top corner will fix that

They probably changed the part during the run of cars. It wouldn't surprise me if earlier cars were significantly different in some areas than older ones.

Hi Tim......

According to the books I have, there were at least two different "styles" of Type 82. The early models have a "conical" tower and the crank "keyhole" plate directly on the rear sheet metal, they mostly had the semaphores mounted on tube brackets. The later cars had a more "cylindrical" tower, and the "keyhole" mounted on a "step" on the rear towing hook cross tube. And, the semaphores were mounted on the sides of the windshield frame. These aren't the only differences shown in books, but the most easily spotted ones.

Best,

BNMike

Hello all-
Has anyone with a kubel Project made a order from Ivo Pospisil of www.kdf.cz? I have made one order with him before and it went well. But the second order is not. Have sent a payment to him for parts and he has not responded back since the first of Aug.

I have dealt with Ivo, and I can attest to his fine reputation. It is a very normal thing in Europe to take a long holiday in the month of August. I wouldn't worry just yet - I think his reputation is sound and you will be very satisfied in the end.

Well the first order did go well, back in March / April of this year. And the parts I ordered are on this thread. I'm really happy with the parts. I just wish he would e-mail me, 18 days is a while to wait after sending a payment. I don't mind a delay, but a little communication would be nice. Thanks for you reply.

Don't worry, he's a good guy, with a solid reputation, as the other poster said, almost everyone takes a holiday in August here in Europe!
Cheers

Kubelwagen headlights, postwar copies I believe.

Original Horn and period lock.

Post war Hella tail lights with one of the mounting brackets. Ordering another one for the other side. Usually Kubelwagens only had one.

Front Notek Blackout Lamp in its original box, I don't think it was ever mounted on a vehicle. I got very lucky on this one.

Rear Notek blackout lamp, original.

Nice stuff,
The front Notek is 12v and the mount is not Kubel, easily remedied. Are you sure the headlights are repos?
Cheers

Hello-
Hope everyone is having a good new year so far. Its been a while since I have ordered parts for my VW kubelwagen (kooblekar) project. I got another part on the way in the mail from Europe. Here are the lastest parts I got late last year:

VW Kubelwagen door handles and latches.

VW kubelwagen style gauges (early VW):

The Kubelwagen door handles and latches came from Ivo at kdf.cz . Will post more pics later, take care.

Hello all-
Just got this Original Mauser K-98 upper rifle mount for the VW Kubel. I found it on ebay:

This is roughly how it will look in the VW Kubel after installation.

Will post more updates later on this year. Fixing to order more parts that I need before I can start putting the Kubel together. Hope everyone is doing well on their VW Projects.
Take care-
Jason
