Right i have emailed Karmann Konnections and they do not have the part.
Busted bus only have the part if i buy the whole steering column and they think the bearing may be just as worn as the one we already have.
Iratehippy - Like the idea! :) Any idea if this would pass a Uk MOT??
Any other ideas welcome :D |

| As a junkie, I've picked up some real bad habits...like beachcombing, and I found some really good hard pieces of flat plastic(4"x8" etc) different sizes, some with holes drilled in them, different thicknesses...these wouldn't conduct electricty. I've been able to get away with putting in another horn button, on the column, sometimes I set it at knee height, hand or knee is able to actuate...probably not MOT...There is a old time bearing supplier in Grants Pass, Ore., Neely Bearing and Supply 1800 NW Hawthorne, 541-476-3289. These folks size the old, and then look up who makes it...I've seen them replace bearings and seals for my 45 chevy steering box and original trans. with out even looking them up, just putting them in their hands. I would think you could look for a machine supply shop/warehouse that could size from the old and get you something made the same. |
