I find it funny how your RHD country has more LHD cars than RHD.

Too funny. Is seems like all of the good Buses are being shipped to the UK, never to return in the condition in which thy arrived.

Same goes for all the Australian buses that end up in the UK. [-X

Id say the RHD air cooled cars gets people more excited in the UK
there are more lhd air cooled dubs in the UK cos the rhd cars are expensive.
knowone wants a modern lhd car in england due to insurance beeing higher but with classics it dont matter

As for cars in the UK coming back worse than where thay come from is bollocks
we dont use bondo to fill the gaps and ive seen some rusty shit heaps driving around california that would get impounded in the UK

Gerson Wed Sep 16, 2009 11:37 am

Hey LongMooie, where did you seen one those "fucking green scoops" installed ????in 5 years I have made 2, and one is in Japan.........and BTW, the one in the picture at the beginning of this thread, that belongs on this bus, is a factory installed original.....

Everyone knows that some of the best Buses are either in or from California.

I never said anything about bondo or rusty shit-heaps; staying in or returning from The UK. I'm not hating on anyone. Relax.

I've been in the VW scene in SoCal since I was 15. I have never once considered going overseas to find a nice, dry VW. On the otherhand, I have been approached by Japanese and UK buyers on more than one occasion. That being said, there is nothing wrong with it but to insinuate that cars from California are rusty POS' and warrant impoundment is obsurd. If that were the case, no one would even considr coming here.

Sorry for the hijack Splitpile

Can we get some more pics? Do you happen to like the band electric wizard? on the side note...yes PLEASE MORE PICTURES!

The bus gets moved over to the workshop next week. I am collecting and waiting on a couple items to go full steam. It will be a BAD ASS bus when done and the "HATERS" are really going to hate it and what we're doing. The bus lover, reguardless of what's done will "LOVE' it.

I will post up some pics next week of the bus and as progress goes.
Engine is a mild 132hp, IDA carbed, 1914. Trans is a Rancho Pro Street 3.88/122 3rd, .89 4th. Porsche 944 brakes on all 4 corners, Custom front beam, center steer and lots of other cool things. Wheels are still a mystery

Thanks to Russel at Old Speed and George at The Bucther Shop, for ideas, help and parts, so far.

I believe Keysar had a question about barndoor production figures. This might help:

Barndoors were from '49 to March of '55.

Just helpin' a brother out.

To an Australian, Dem's fightin words right there!!!

Seriously though, the Aussie Dubbers hate the brits taking their rides just as much and probably more than the Americans.

We have a lot less cars to start with, and they like australian imports more because of the whole RHD thing...
