Thats a nice looking bus you got there, is that just one door on the driver side?hmm? Or is is a double door and the other door is missing the mech that makes the rods go int to the rocker and the roof of the bus? or dose that side even have one?...or did I miss somthing early in the thread?

Thats just the way barndoor cargo door mechs work the rods for the other door are inside the door.
Nice looking project ronnie

It's a DD BD Deluxe  so far with other custom touches in the works.

Nice project !! 23 window, doubledoor Barny-----WOW !!!

FYI for those RHD wannabees, there are still RHD's out there - NOT RHD DD BD, but RHD no less.

So is it a "hack" , is it an original 23 to start with or one made completly from parts???

It is a real 53 23 window. I will post up the vin after this weekend. It is mostly original BD metal

Progress is being made on project rhd. Got the front beam fitted, center steer figured out, trans in and rear axles/brakes test fitted for wheel clearance.

Waiting on the frame section and some other parts from Klassic Fab to complete the rhd conversion and a rhd steering pivot

Goal is to have it on the ground next week to check out the stance, then remove and paint every thing to reinstall.

Still a couple months more worth of fab, clean up and finish work on the drivetrain and other stuff.

Why is it being converted to a RHD?

Because that was the owner wants and it's going to Australia

Engine test fit 1914 with IDA's(Made 132 hp on the dyno at 5000 rpm)

Need to relocate the gas tank and move filler neck, modify spare tire carrier

Front trans rubber mount (a little detail work yet to do) I like to use rubber mounts on all my buses as I hate solid mount vibration. Torque brace will be added to the front to keep from ripping out the mount. Need to modify the off the shelf brace to would on a wolfs berg bus

All the rear suspension and shift linkage is done, waiting on parts to finish front suspension. Still have plenty to do in the engine compartment to keep me busy for a few days. Fuel system, coil pak mounts, gas tank relocate and parcel tray. Hopefully by the time I'm done with that I will have the walkthrough section and the rhd frame pieces, spindels from Russ at Old Speed and a few parts I need from OZ

It was LHD 53 BD Deluxe. It now has DD( all BD parts), a rhd W/T section being added and converted to RHD. The W/T section is being copied from pics of Mark Merz old BD W/T,

So you have taken a LHD BD 23 window deluxe with bench seat and made it into a RHD Double Door 23 window deluxe walk through.

Sorry but I am amazed that you have basically done everything you can to make this the ultimate "HACK" the amount of people that got flamed for doing a lot less, yes even Boxrod.

I know, " its what the customer ordered" , but its still a "Hack" , where do you draw the line???????
