Does that mean that a correct distributor is in my near-rather-than-distant future?

notchboy Sun Nov 29, 2009 8:19 pm

I hope so.

Cars other than my square is my daily driven 93 corrado slc.
I love the thing almost as much as the square.

They are OK around town, as a donut and coffee truck, but they suck on the highway. Worse than a motor home in the wind.

Man, I love those high roof Typ 2s. Splendid.

I just picked up an '87 Cabriolet to flip.

Here's one of mine:

The rear window is original, along with the body, and one door. I think that's it. I built the rest.

I also have a 1970 Westy, fairly complete and somewhat original:

Unfortunately, there is something sticking up under the fan shroud that's preventing it from going very fast at the moment:

hmmm....

That's typical. they all got hit there + battery box rust out, it seems. The panel for the early Bay is available.

Mine was rat- farked in the right rear also, when the previous owner slammed it into the bumper of a Suburban while she was backing out of a parking spot about five years ago. It was really mangled, and patch panels for late bays are NOT available. I couldn't even find a good used one at the time.

I straightened and finessed it as best I could for her. Let's just say that the newer polyester body fillers go on thick, and resist cracking really, really well.

Actually, here's a nice OG piece, right near a certain Mr. James Notch.
