Die hard VW fan, not die hard chevy.

I spotted a 61 single in el paso, if its still available if a few months I might pick it up.
at the risk of offending a die hard chevy fan (if you are one), I've driven both the new Camaro SS and the new 2010 Mustang GT, and the mustang is head and shoulders better... :|

I'll admit I've had a bent for a while now to get an old muscle car... not necessarily the quintissential Mustang or Camaro or Nova...
I would really like a Ford Falcoln Futura or maybe a Galaxie.... an oldschool thunderbird or Corvette Stingray would be baller. I'd shoehorn in the biggest crate motor I could afford and drive the piss out of it.
*sigh* one day when I have loads and loads of money... |

I am a true T-3 diehard but I wish Jason well in his venture for a Bus Phat Chick! I think he should consider changing his nickname to "Bay-Boy" kinda rhymes with something else... don't it?

Dude, you've got issues. :D Congrats.
Me?!? How many vehicles listed in your sig-line? Just be thankful I have a Type-3 for you to drive when you come down for next year's Classic!
Tram... you are no different than I, except I live in a different Tax Bracket! If you could own the cars I have, I know you would be biting at the bit. At least I am not trading it for a "Bay"

I don't know what you think my tax bracket is. It shall remain a secret. I'll bet your tax bracket is higher, just because you live in the bankrupt State of California and pay for license plate renewal what I pay for cars... with no sales tax.
If I was only into VWs, I'd probably have zipped every car you own before you got there.
As it is, I have a '64 Notch, a '66 T34 Cabrio Conversion, a 1972 Notch, and a 1968 Square in varios states of dis/ repair.
But then, I'm into Mercedes as well: 1972 280SE 4.5, 1976 280SLC 52K miles, 1975 O309D "Executive" Bus, 1985 300TDT. I've sold off a bunch of others.
But then still, there's my 1920s/ 30s first pressing jazz record collection... about 6500 pieces. Then, there's my Depression- era classical record collection. Then, there are the 1930s 16" radio transcriptions. Oh, and the wind- up phonographs.
Booze ain't cheap, either. |

| I have a '70 Baja that I'm working on for my son's first car. I also have a '88 Cabriolet that I bought to flip, but the wife decided she liked it. Also have a '67 Ghia convertible. And a '70 Ghia hard top. |

Note that most of mine are T-3's.. The rest are mainly parts cars and ones I am flipping.
I do not turn any VW down, if it is free.
BTW, My VW Fox is a T-3. It is a model 307. |

Im still an active member of the T3 brotherhood. If I get the urge to lower, put a dvd player in, put in a 90 amp alt-wont it be better to take it out on a Bay Westy than my x-62 notch  |

| Yessir! Just pulling your leg Jason, Some of the most memorable moments I've spent with my family include a '71 bay and a '79 Westy. There shouldn't be a problem if you own other cars. The common denominator will always be type 3's with all of us. |

Fair enough. Other than other Type 3s I've owned a couple of bugs and some watercooled VAG products that would be best forgotten. I'm not really looking for another ACVW now but I have half-seriously considered looking for all of the following at one point or another in the last few years:
late notch
bay double cab or single cab
a second Type 34
ragtop 40-horse bug
412 variant
912
914
I also know someone who might be selling a '52 split in the next year or two. That's the kind of thing that'll start the gears turning... |

Scott - if you ever change your mind about a late Notch, I have a nice '71. Bought it for my son, Alex, who decided that a late Notch automatic would be the lowest production number Type 3 and thus most sought after.
He drove it almost two weeks before deciding that automatics are "boring". It has been parked ever since. :(
Built for the German market, it has lowback fabric seats, carbs, etc.
