I have looked in the classifieds FAQ with no luck. I am wondering how I get this thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=201577&highlight=sage to link with the Feedback link at the bottom of my ads.

Suggestions?

Put your Samba userid and email address in the title.

Would it be possible to modify the e-mail function on an ad to include the link to someone's feedback link.

For example, people here who buy or sell a lot and have an established feedback thread in the Buyer/Seller forum may wish for the recipient to be cognizant of the thread and have a chance to read it. It would be nice if the e-mail function could populate the template with the link to that person's feedback along with some kind of message encouraging the recipient to read it. It would be much easier than having to copy and paste it into the message.

Close, but no cigar. I'm talking about if I'm the person responding to someone's ad (eg, a WTB ad). It would be nice if, when I'm e-mailing that person from his ad, the e-mail template would auto populate with a link to my feedback. It would be very convenient if I'm going through the classifieds and e-mailing several sellers or potential buyers.

I understand what you are asking but as of right now, there is no direct link to your feedback from your profile. It's doing a search by email when you click on the feedback link.

So it would have to perform a search on every email send, which would put a big load on the server.

I realize this is not the optimum set up but that is how it works at the moment.

If you think adding a generic message to the emails that are sent by logged in users that say something to the effect of how you can view a person's feedback by using their profile link above, I could investigate that.

Possible example:
Before
Code: This email was sent from the logged in user: everettb
Their Samba profile can be seen at:

After

Yes Everett, you understood correct. I did not know how everything is configured that would link to the feedback and be able to pull the link.

I do like your second example. I believe that by adding the verbiage and the link it could assuage someone's concerns or hesitation with dealing with a stranger over the Internet.
